Analysis: Seattle is playing well despite some injuries. Wally Szczerbiak came off the bench again to play a pivotal role in another Sonics comeback, scoring 18 points and helping Seattle beat Minnesota 109-90 Saturday. Rookie Jeff Green also scored 18. Young Seattle has a shot to go 7-7 in December and they are 3-1 ATS the last four games. Philadelphia is on a long West Coast swing. This will be their third game in four nights, and the second of a back to back road spot. They will be tired and only average 93 ppg on the road. Play the Sonics!

Pick: Take Under
Analysis: This is no ordinary NHL game: It will be played on ice in Ralph Wilson Stadium, where the Buffalo Bills play. That’s an outdoor stadium, in the freezing cold of Buffalo. The Sabres and Penguins tested the outdoor rink for the first time, and it quickly became obvious players were thinking about the cold and wind. Left wing Thomas Vanek skated onto the ice with a hood covering his head and face. Soon, linemate Derek Roy followed suit. A few minutes later, Jason Pominville, Tim Connolly, Jaroslav Spacek and Michael Ryan donned the hoods. The grand experiment will be played outdoors in the cold, which should mean little scoring as players focus on staying warm and avoiding frostbite. Play the Penguins/Sabres under the total!

Pick: Take (715) BOS Celtics
Analysis: The Celtics just continue to roll along, now winners of 24 of 27 games this season. They have done well covering spreads too, covering 19 of 26. Boston has been an excellent road team too, going 10-2 SU and 8-4 ATS. The Celtics have been a fantastic bet on the road since last year, now going 35-16-2 ATS away from home. The Jazz started the season well but then fell on hard times. They still sport a 16-14 SU mark, but are just 13-16 ATS. This looks to be an excellent game, but with the Celtics laying the short 2 1/2 on the road – we’ll lay the points with a club that has won 24 of 27 on the year.

Rumor has it that the Giants will be resting players in the 2nd. The Pats historically let their starters play. The Pats are also going for a record tonight, and I expect them to get it.
Atlanta Falcons -107
Believe it or not, the Falcons have value in this game. Seattle is locked into the 3rd seed, so like the Giants, they have nothing to play for and should be resting players.

Miami at home vs a team they can beat. They should be motivated and playing for their jobs.
